I began working with dogs when I was just 15 years old, beginning my journey at a German Shepherd breeding/training company. I quickly fell in love with the German Shepherd breed and I began learning how to train a variety of different breeds of dogs. With a huge heart for rescue pets, I acquired more experience with dogs (and cats) upon working at Adams County Animal Shelter as a Behavior Assistant for two years. As a Behavior Assistant, I temperament tested and evaluated hundreds of dogs, matched dogs with potential adopters, and provided behavior modification to dogs that were not yet suited to be available for adoption. I broadened my knowledge of all different breeds of dogs and that journey guided me to discover my great love for cats. In addition to my previous behavioral and training experience, I learned how to groom dogs and spent a year doing so. Eager to follow my ultimate passion, I have been employed with the Aurora Animal Shelter since early December of 2018.

Throughout my career, I have become well-versed in positive reinforcement training methods and will continue to practice this approach. I believe that it is very important to have a great bond with your dog and implementing positive training methods is the best way to form that bond. I see dogs and their owners as a team rather than a leader and a follower. My specialty is training puppies and working with very fearful dogs, to help them gain confidence and understand that life isn't as scary as it may seem. I would love to form a great relationship with you and your dog(s) to get them (and you!) on the path to training success!

I currently share my home with my two German Shepherds, Scarlett and Envy, my beloved cats Mia, Quorra and Max.

I first started training dogs for no other reason than my love of dogs! My enthusiasm and love of dog training is because it creates a special bond between the animal and owner that cannot be achieved in any other way.

My previous roles have included working for the U.S Navy training detection and apprehension canines,  working for multiple training facilities across Colorado where I worked with dogs that had all different types of behavior problems and working as a training consultant for police departments.  My extensive experience working with all different types and breeds of dogs has given me the knowledge to train any animal.  My main goal as a trainer is to train the perfect dog for your individual needs. I take great pleasure in helping create an everlasting bond between dog and owner.

I am a graduate of Karen Pryor Academy for Professional Dog Trainers and I continue to educate myself on the most up to date and effective training methods. Having used all methods of dog training I have stuck with positive reinforcement because of the results and overall happiness it brings to dogs. I strive to create a training plan between you and your dog that will last a lifetime.

I moved from Ayr, Scotland in 2013 and currently live in Evergreen, Colorado with my  2yr old Czech Shepherd Watson, 6yr old Pitbull mix Conway and my 1yr old Cream Golden Retriever Bonnie.
